2005 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My truck has been running fine until yesterday. I was sitting at idle, the engine sputtered and shut off. It would not re-start at all. It will turn over, but it will not start. What could be wrong with it?

Also, is the check engine light on? You might grab a cheap codes reader and pull the codes.
