2000 Ford Ranger Rear End Seizure

Howdy,
On my 2000 ford ranger, the rear end seized up, as I had an unnoticed leak. It seized so badly there was a fire.
I am confident I can repair the truck in my friends garage but I would like help in figuring out what parts to get. My engine has 8 spark plugs but is a 4 cylinder.

What I recommend, if it was that bad, replace the entire differential. Chances are you will find one for a good price at a salvage yard since the cash for clunkers programs. They are smashing nicer vehicles than I can afford.
