1996 Ford Ranger Temperature Control

The heater temperature control does not work. It is always full heat (unless max a/c is chosen). Is this most likely a bad rheostat on the panel? Is it something that can be changed out at home?

Most likely its a bad sensor and I would change the thermostat while youre at it

This problem is because the temperature blend door actuator is bad, here is the location so you can swap it out which should fix it. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes
