I have a 96 ranger with 4.0 and a couple of months ago it started an awful belt squeal. The serp belt was replaced and it didnt go away. Next to be replaced were the idler pulley, tensioner and pulley, alternator and it still makes this sound. Not when its cold, but after its warmed up. Costing alot of time and money and none of the shops I have been to have been able to find the problem.

If they replaced the belt tensionier and the belt, then one of the accessories has to be locking up. Does it only happen when you run the AC, defroster, or place an added load on the electrical system? When turning? Has anyone checked the water pump?
