Steering problem
1996 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

As my truck idle's louder or with increased RPM's I get a loud whining noise that coincides with it. It sounds a little like a remote control car but not exactly. I am not losing any power steering fluid. Please help.

Just to eliminate accessories remove belt and start engine for a min
if noise is gone
check pulleys by spinning them one at a time felling any resistance and or differ in sound
