I was just wondering if the 2.3 with distributor is an interference motor on a 1988 ford ranger

No it does not appear to be an interference engine. If you need anything else let me know.

Now, i'm confused as "just answer @ ford" just told me that it was an interference motor. How do I tell?

I have answered your question. The 2.3 ltr pinto, ranger engine is not an interference engine unless it is a turbo or diesel.
