My car currently has a 170 cu. In. 6 cyl engine. What suspension parts (or other parts)should I replace if I want to put a 289 cu. In. Engine in the car?

With the increase in weight, you will have to replace the front springs, motor mounts. Check and see if transmission will lign up, most of the time the transmission will have to be upgraded to fit tthe v/8 engine. Needless to say you might want to think about upgrading from the engine back. The rear end was made fot the 6 cyl. Back in 66 I went from a 6 cyl to a 312 engine with changing the motor mounts and engine.

In the process of doing the same conversion. You will need a new trans for the 289. I had the car back halfed. Tubbed out boxed in coil overs with a 4 link set up and a 9 inch rear. You need to upgrade from the 4 lug to 5 lug to handle the torque put out by the 289. A mustang 2 front end is a direct bolt in for this rear car. If you aren't going modern a 66 mustang front end will work as well
