I have a '93 Ford Taurus SHO 3.2 V6 24 Valve DOHC. It has around 123,000 miles on it. Ran perfectly fine till one day we heard a knocking sound come from the head of the engine. We had someone "look" at it and they diagnosed it with "a cam broke loose", but there was no performance being lost. What else could it be then? A lifter in the cam shaft?
