1961 Other Ford Models 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual unsure miles

I have a 49 ford that we have bought and the previous owner said he had it running in the past, but now the car has been sitting for years. It is a v6 engine and of the batteries back then were 6 volts not 12. We took off the starter and tested it and it seemed to work. The cylinoid seems to be fine and the battery, Does anyone have any ideas to get the engine cranked over? Thanks

Take the starter back off and have it tested at an auto parts store. Then make sure the battery is fully charged and try then. Sometimes you can jump the cellonoid to see if that is the problem. It could also be a cable bad. Sometimes you can jump the 6 volt system with 12 to see if it will work. Make sure the engine will turn over by hand or with a wrench as it could be frozen as well.
