Transmission problem
2004 Ford Mustang 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 53000 miles

My car will not shift out of park. Has sporadiclaly done this but not is stuck. Is it possibly the brake switch or maybe the button on shifter? Wife is real pissed at me. Have had car for two years and first time it did this was couple weeks ago. Hope you can help. Thanks steve

This sometimes works if vehicle is on slight incline. Apply handbrake and jack up drive wheels off ground to relieve tension off transmission. Doesn't work everytime but may help, afterwards you still need to check the items ras mentioned?
