1997 Ford Mustang 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 85, ooo miles

I have a 1997 Ford Mustang, and the speedometer is bouncing up and down. When I give it gas, the speedometer goes to zero. Someone please help. Thank you.

Does the trans shift properly?If so you may be looking at a dash cluster issue or a problem with the wiring between the PCM (Computer) and the dash. If thetrans isnt shifting correctly, it may be the Vehicle Speed Sensor that is bad. A computer scan will give a code if this is the problem
