Check the fuel pressure if its within specs if okay clean out the idle air control valve also the MAF sensor with an approved cleaner and test the throttle position sensor.

Check Your MAP sensor, if the car is spewing black smoke and running like an old tractor (you know, putt-putt-putt)

Its usually the map sensor, or a vacuum leak.
