I am the owner of a 68 ford mustang that I have had for over 15 years. The car has always had one problem. It will stall from time to time when you begin to move it from a stopped position. This has done it some days worse then others. I have had numerous carburators put into it, have had the vacuum lines all checked and had all the fuel pieces replaced numerous times. The points and plugs are all good. I have spoken to two other owners of the same car who complained about the same issues with no answers. I cannot believe there is no answer for this. Just picture sitting at a light, the light turns green and if you hit the gas petal too quick it will stall, not hard enough it stalls, is there anyone who has had the same problem or any suggestions, any help would be greatly appreciated please email to boston18@gmail. Com. Thank you for your time.

If you have a dwell meter hook it up, and check to make sure the dwell does not change as you raise the dle to 2000 RPM or so, if it does, there is sideplay in your distributor. Also check the vacuum advance to see if it holds vacuum. I used to set my timing on my 67 by having someone in the car hold the rpms up while in drive, advance till it started to ping, then back off a bit. It is a better time than the spec.

Check the fuel pump pressure, the carb accelerator pump whether its squirting fuel when throttle is pull back. Could be a problem within the distributor- check the vacuum advance unit-Recheck the dwell angle or point gap

Hey Mike sounds good on vacuum timing it either with a vacuum gauge or the pinging method then back off-Good Old Stuff

Also test the coil primary and secondary windings
