Brown antifreeze

I went to have my oil changed and they said my antifreeze was brown and my whole engine needed flushed, I only have 30000 miles on my car and all of the fluids are checked regularly. Is this something that typically happens or does it sound like im being ripped a new one at my oil change place?

What year is your car
Most coolant now they are 100k miles _+

So if you are driving a newer car get a different opinion
If its an older car may be
