From 35 - 65 psi here is a guide to help you see how to check the fuel pump pressure.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

If your vehicle doesn't have a schrader valve on the fuel rail, you will need a fuel injection test kit to tap into the line either after the filter or where the line attaches to the fuel rail

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers

Have you checked the fuel pump? Also, check your fuel lines for leaks, and your fuel pressure regulator (remove the vacuum line connected to it, and check inside for fuel; if there is fuel inside the vacuum line, replace regulator). - This year don't have a regulator it's regulated by pcm?

Sounds like you could use some help, I used to have a diesel Ford Tempo 86 and after 200.000 I had some trouble with the head gasket, Some one drove it before I bought it and ran it with out Pres tone in it and over heated it, then I bought it with out knowing, changes the head gasket had the head shaved and never did get it running right, Had to scrap it in the end.
Regards and good luck, also could just be air in the system some where, Pump/filter could even be electric problem it sounds like it was running good before you went to that shop, probably some thing to do with that chow friend. Silly question but "did some one put gas in it? That sounds right on the mark too.

I have a 2003 ford focus zx3 2.3 L. These vehicles have no place to place a fuel pressure gauge I have looked through all over. So how do you check your fuel pressure the only thing I can think of is cutting the fuel rail or taking it to a shop where they have the machines but I will never take my vehicle to a shop unless I am getting a smog. Does anybody have any other ideas.

You need to tap in by the engine where it connects from the frame to the fuel rail. Here shows the gauge set you can rent for free at the auto parts store which will come with the adapter to tap in

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

We have no amp draw specs pressure should be 35-55 psi with key on only. auto parts rent it see link. if it blows the fuse it is too much draw or wire shorted out.

I have a 2000 ford Focus and it has a fuel starvation problem. Last week a new fuel filter and fuel pump assembly was installed. Everything was fine for the first 250 miles. Then the problem started again. I have a scanguage II installed in the car and today I noticed the when I put my foot in it the FPR(fuel pressure) drops down to 7-8 when the fuel starvation occurs. Normally it is in the range of 25-41. So what is the correct range for the FPR? What could cause this problem? This problem has just about broken the bank.
