I just bought my festiva and saw that there was an oil leak from what looks like is the flywheel housing(the space where the engine and trany come together) but I thought that there wasnt any fluid there? Oh yea and how do you check the tranny and what type of fluid is it thanks everyone

Check you valve cover really good for cracks. I had a leak and I swore it was in that place to but it turned out to be that the back corner of the valve cover was cracked. Its a good place to start looking. And your tranny fluid should be mercron (most fords are) but festiva's a hardy cars and most automatic tranny fluid does the job. We've never had problems. And when you are looking under the hood I belive its a black dipstick twards the rear of the motor
