I have been having a problem with my truck for a few days now. It feels almost as if I have lost a cylinder and I have a service engine soon light on but no one I have taken to can get any codes. The truck started acting up last week and the light would come on for a while and while the light was on the truck would run real rough then it would go off after a while and all was fine, the light now stays on and the truck runs horribly. I had to replace the Cam Postion Sensor about 2 weeks ago becuase then engine completely shut down on me, after I replaced it it was fine for a few days. I just replaced the fuel filter and ran some Power Service Diesel Kleen through it Saturday but that doesnt seem to have helped. If anyone can help me with this then please let me know.

Exhaust back pressure switch could cause that symtom. Normally you can get a code out of the PCM. Also double check the engine oil level. If it is low the HIgh pressure pump will cut in and out due to a loss of pressure. This pump is what provides the pressure for the injection system.

I can't remember all of them, but I know that it was showing, something open in the turbo, and cylender # 7 was not fireing. When I start the truck, for the first 20 mint's there is no check engine light, and it run's good, then the light comes on and starts missing.I was told the wires that goes to # 7 & 8
will get bad or comes out of the hornest, and couses the problem. I don't know where to start.

Thanks

David

I wish you still had the codes. You can change the UVC harness and gasket. I have seen the problem in the gasket connection between the UVC and the outside harness. Have you ran an injector buzz test to see if all 8 buzz? Let me know I will try and find more info.

Thanks

Hi;
I took the valve cover off, and checked the uvc connector, and test the wire, everything looked good, I cleaned the coonectors, and put it back together, still missing!I think it's the exhaust back flow! Dont' know, may be !
I looked, I could't find whre it goes!

Thanks again
