ABS light illuminated and brake lights are on

I have a 1997 f-250 heavy duty, 4x4, E4od transmission (about 1000 miles on rebuild), approximately 25,000 on Jasper 5.8l. Yesterday the abs light came on and the brake lights are also staying on, I have to pull the fuse to get the brake lights to go out. I know absolutely nothing about the ABS system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the brake fluid level
you may need a brake job
and if all ok you have to scan for code s

Thank you for the quick response. The two problems are completely unrelated. The brake light switch went bad, I should have checked that prior to posting, as far as the ABS light, it went out so I still don't have a clue as to what caused it to go on.

Every time you turn key on the system go throw a check list and if the switch was bad. This is why
