2002 Ford F-250 Sensors

I have a 2002 Powerstoke, and I am having accelorator problems. There is an engine warning light on my dash and when it is on the truck won't accelerate but when the light goes out I am able to accelerate. When the light comes on if I play with the accelorator I can usually get the light to go out. Where is the sensor that controls this?

Best way to go about this is to get it scanned for codes
I would check the throttle pedal position sensor
located inside the cap by the brake and fuel pedal
