1999 Ford F-250 Truck wont start

When I turn key I do not get any clicking or other noises, I have power to all acc and I know bat is good. I have tried shifting to nuet assuming NS Switch went. Still notta. Had dad try crancking wile I tapped on starter, worked once, but he was wiggling shift lever at same time. This morning (in downpoor) I slid underneath and jumped celenoid on starter. Starter spun but bendix did not engage. I am in need of some ideas of what to start replacing. Or at least were to start checking.

Hello,

Ok, it you were able to tap on starter and it start then I would say that it is your starter and if you were able to jumped starter and the bindix spun just didn't engage, I would remove starter and take to local parts store and have them test it.

If tests good look for bad grounds. Check the Neg cable at block for good connection, remove and clean to make sure connection is good.
