1998 Ford F-250 Hopefully it's not the transmission

I'm not sure where the problem is exactly coming from but this is what it does. When I'm excelerating it kinda hops or strains to get past either high second gear or low third gear. Once it gets past that point though it doesn't happen again until I decelerate and excelerate again to that point. Could it be fluid problem, a spark plug problem or worse is it actually my transmission

You could always start with a service to see if there is anything nasty looking in the pan. If it only does it at thetop of 2nd and into 3rd then it could be an internal problem if 1st and OD are ok. You could also have the PCM scanned to see if it has stored any codes for trans problems, like a sticky solenoid or the such.I wouldnt think it would be an engine problem or you would feel it struggling or misfiring at other engine speeds, not just in one particular range
