My 460 began running poorly (especially from a dead stop) off the front tank. It runs fine off the back one. Thought it might be a bad fuel pump in the front tank. But when running off the back tank it is dumping fuel into the front tank. I started reading about pressure regulating valve problems and bad check valves that do the same thing. Got any ideas? Thanks.

You got it, the front pump is bad. They (Ford) used to have an inline pressure valve that would keep this from happening, but it isnt available anymore, so you will have to replace the front tank unit.I highly recommend using either a Motorcraft or A/C Delco pump, a cheap fuel pump is exactly that, a cheap pump
