My truck has developed a rattle that seems to be coming from beneath the truck in the middle of the front floor board. Rattle is not present until you accelerate. With car in park there is no rattle when you press the accelerator.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

That is very likely a Catalytic Converter broken internally. If you crawl under the truck with the engine OFF. Use the heel of your hand to hit each converter sharply and see if one of them rattles.

It can be. It depends on whether there is an aftermarket replacement available. Talk to an exhaust specialty shop and they can verify the problem and tell you what's available.
