2004 Ford F-150 passive restrant light

When starting the passive restrant goes through its test then it blinks once skips then blinks 8 times. It will do this severial times then it will stay on solid. Any suggestions?

As far as the flash codes go 18 is not on the list, so you will need to have the codes read at a shop that can read "B" codes.

You need a special scanner to test for codes. The sir system does a system check every ignition cycle and will turn itself off if the problem goes away. You definately have a problem. You will probably need to bring it to a service station and get it scanned to determine the codes. Hope this helps

I have found the cause of my issue. The lamp to the "passenger air bag off" lamp went out. I did a few simple test to confirm this. Now I just need to find a replacement lamp. My guess is the passive restant lamp will point you to the area that has a problem by the number of flashes it gives, (in my cass 1 flash, pause, 8 flashes, stop) is indacating the" passenger air bag off" lamp is out. Hope this may help others.
