Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Ford F150 V8 86000 miles

My F-150 2002 PU will jerk/hesitate between 40-55 mph. I took it into a garage and they hooked it up to the computer and could not find a current or past problem. I have only had the truck for about 9 months and this just started happening about 2 months ago. I keep the truck in overdrive all the time.

I drove it with the overdrive turned off and it did not skip. What does that mean? The overdrive comes on automatically when you start the truck.

There is a switch in the valve the controls fluid flow to the lockup torque coverter. At 45 to 50 it is supposed to lockup and give overdrive. The switches go bad and you feel the jumping in and out of OD. Pan needs to be removed switch replaced.
Hope this helps
