2001 Ford F-150 suddenly developed a hesitation under load. Thought perhaps it was a spark plug or coil pack. I have also had an error code (302) for the EGR valve but it comes and goes on its own. My air conditioning will change from vent to defrost regardless of setting under load indicating a possible vacuum leak? I have cleared the code and I have no check engine light at this time but the hesitation remains. Thanks for your time.

First, have you checked the EGR to make sure it is working correctly? Next, the air direction in the cab is run by vacuum, so your guess is most likely correct, a vacuum leak which could also be causing a hesitation. Have you checked for a leak?

The EGR is working correctly. The problem appears to be the sensor. I will replace. I have not found the source of the leak but it mus t be pretty severe any ideas? I accelerated hard and was able to get two additional codes first "multiple cylinder misfire" then "cylinder 4 misfire". Would I assume a possible ignition problem also?
