I have only had the truck a short time. The first week driving it or so it shifted into gears great. Now as time progresses it is getting harder and harder to find first gear. It will go into all the other gears easily but while at a complete stop it is difficult to shift into first gear. Now this is my first manual so I am unfamiliar with what all is involved. My guess is the synchronizer or just the clutch going out. It does not make a grinding noise just very hard to shift into first. I have found that by shifting into another gear then going into first helps the matter. All the fluis levels are full. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Yes it is easy to shift into first with it off. I am thinking it might be low on fluid or it may have the wrong fluid in it. I have heard stories of manuals with the wrong fluid start acting up after a month or so with the same symptoms. Not sure though.

IF the clutch fluid resivour is full, it should be fine unless the pressure plate is getting weak and not fully disengaging the engine from the trans.
