1999 Ford F-150 Ignition switch had to be replaced

1999 Ford F150 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

My ignition switch is broken so I have got to replace it. I was told that I was going have to reprogram the new ignition switch and keys for the truck to start. Is there a way I could do this at home?

To the best of my knowledge, a dealer is the only one that has the proper equipment to reprogram the security system in the car. Otherwise, anyone could disable the system and use any key that they program.
