My wife's 1999 F150 Mark Martin Signature Edition, got in it yesterday and it turned over just fine but will not start. It has sit for a few months and has not been started. It has 1/4 tank of fuel in it. I took a spray bottle with gas in it and had wife get inside and try to start it as I sprayed gas in the breather intake. (Had fire extinguisher sitting within reach) She started right up, as long as I sprayed gas she would run as soon as I quit she died! What do you think problem might be? I'm afraid gas has soured. There is no way to tow her or get her on roll back with ground effects on her. I am mechanically knowledgeable but on this new of a model don't know where to start! Please advise!

Rich, if it has only been a couple months, the fuel should still be good. My first guess is you either have a plugged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. Here is a how to for checking fuel pump pressure. Start with this, and let me know what you find.

Hey Guys,
Thanks! It turns out it was the fuel pump. She sat so low to the ground there was no way I could have her towed or hauled on a roll back. So I done it myself. Several body wounds and several cursing later, I got her put back together. Added new fuel to the tank (five gallons), hooked up battery turn key to on twice and Houston we have ignition! She said there and purred like a big cat. I took her out and got some premium fuel and added bottle of STP. I then had to stretch her legs a little, she ran like a scalded dog!
THANKS again!
