I tried to start my truck right after it had just been running and when I turned the key it just made a loud, fast repeating clicking sound. I waited about two hours and tried it again and just got one click when I turned the key. During both of these attempts power was going to everything just fine. I figured it to be the starter or the starter solenoid. A couple of hours later I went back out and when I turn the key nothing would come on as if the battery was dead. The battery and all the connections are fine. Sometimes when I turn the key the radio and lights will come on but quickly go off. What could be causing this?

Try testing the battery and the charging system. It sounds like you may have a bad battery. Can you jump it with another vehicle to get it running?

Flexy5,

like I said in my post the battery and the connections are fine. Meaning I checked them and they are a'ok. Turned out to be the ignition switch. Thanks for the response anyway

Sorry to rain on you, but flexy never stated to check the cables for corrosion, as you stated.

He told you something you never even mentioned in your original topic.
