Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1993 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 137, miles

how do I remove the r/rear axle from the rear end? I have the rear backing plate removed, hoghead cover also removed. Must I remove the spider gears also just to replace a grease seal. Old & in trouble.

Hi Rodger,

You will need to remove the Pinion Shaft and to remove it you have to remove the Pinion Shaft Bolt.
After doing that you will have to push the axle in to be able to remove the c-clip on the end of the axle. Here is an exploded view....

Is it full or semi floating rear end? If your planning on replacing the bearing you will need a machine shop remove and press on the new bearings, keep that in mind.
