Engine Performance problem
1986 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive

My 86 F-150 truck runs great until it warms up and then you can't press down the gas. It wil start sputtering and then bog down and die. Now for the first 20 mint. Or so it runs great, then as soon as it gets warmed up or a lil hot is when it starts acting up.

Check engine light come on? Could be an EGR or EVR problem, EGR is not used during engine warm up...test for codes! Same applies to heated 02 sensors...

do this and count the flashes...Count the flashes, a 22 will flash as 2 flashes then a short pause, then 2 flashes, if more than one code is stored, the pause will be longer. The codes will display three times and end with 11 or 111. Write them down and post here. First do this with the ke on engine off, then again with it running.

Check your Coolant Temp Sensor. Or just replace it, it is not very expensive. In my experience I find that this sensor will very seldom give code unless Not Working at all.
