Engine Performance problem
1983 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive
rebuilt carburetor w rebuild kit upon install vehicle now starts but exessive fuel pours out of top of carburetor what is wrong? Maybe float not closing needle valve?

Could be the float misadjusted or it has a pin hole leak that's causing it sunked and overflowing

Assuming you have not added an electric fuel pump or anything that would have increased the fuel pressure, the problem will be in the carb. The most common cause is a piece of dirt caught in the needle and seat, not allowing it to close but Raz has given you other viable possibilities too. If it doesn't clear itself up, the needle valve will have to be removed to check for dirt. Some carbs allow it to be removed from the outside while others require removing the whole top of the carb to access it.
