I'm in the midst of buying a used car that has been sitting idle for over a year. No maintenance issues reported on Carfax, but concerned about it sitting idle for so long. Please share your thoughts on this.
thank you.

Before running it drain gas and replace fuel filter then fill with fresh gas and a bottle of fuel system cleaner.

And change the oil and oil filter.

Next as possible take vehicle in for a tranny flush.

Before driving it let vehicle run in park for a few minutes. Then put tranny in neutral and let it idle for a bit. Then put it and gear with brake on and let it idle through each gear.

Then put back in park shut off and restart. From there slowly take off and slowly slow down. Let vehicle do the slowing this will help get teh tranny lubed up and the cylinders lubed up.
