2003 Ford Explorer rear brake locking up

The rear brake on the driver's side is staying engaged / dragging. I replaced the brake caliper and pads and it did not fix the problem. The brake line bleeds fine. A few people have advised that it may be the ABS system, but all the other brakes work properly. It has 4 wheel disc brakes. One person also advised that it may be the brake line but there are no kinks or problems with the line that I can see. Any ideas?

When the dragging occurs, does releasing the bleeder nur releases the pressure to free the wheel?

Yes it does, it was the only way I could get the caliper off

Only the ABS unit or a faulty flexible hoses to the rear brake can cause the problem described.

Pressure is not being released and that is causing the caliper pistons to be engaged. Check the flexible hose for any soft spots, that might indicate collapsed internal linings and preventing the fluid pressure from releasing.
