i'm in a auto's class and i'm fixing the family's explorer. It has the check engine light so I scanned it, I have a couple fault codes. The fault codes have to do with problems with the sensors. I am wondering if the monitos are not working properly and that causes to say the sensors aren't doing their job. The fault codes are P1157 P1127 P1400 P1780.? Can you please suggest anyway of how to check my monitors, or anyway of finding out if my monitors are running properly.

Monitors should have nothing to do with codes. The codes could prevent the monitors from running or passing.

The monitors themself are just strategys like for missfire for example. Monitors vehicle speed, crank positioin and engine speed to see if vehicle is missfiring. But if the monitor doesnt run it wont throw a code for vss, ckp, etc.
