I have a car that I bought used I recetly had a tune up done in November and last night the car started to surge and the check engine light came on. I had my mechanic hook it up to his computer and I have a misfire in chamber 4 the same one that misfired in November. What could cause this issue and what could the approximate cost on parts be?

Could be many things, the plug and wire for that cylinder, could be the injector, could be the intake valve or exhaust valve for that cylinder, intake manifold gasket too. I would check the compression in that cylinder, you could have a burnt valve, I will send you something on checking compression, another thing causing this could be a vacuum leak.

These guides can help us fix it
