How do I know if I need shocks. I've been having some loud metal sqeeking noises from the right front side of my truck. It's a dry loud sqeeking noise at that.

A rule of thumb from shock manufactures, replace ever 50,000, or if you see oil on the outside of the shock, squeaks can also be dry front end parts, like ball joints, tie rod ends.
