2000 Ford Explorer Faulty front ends

I keep going through tires if I do not rotate them like every 2000 miles. My front end has been checked and aligned by a very honest and rep. Shop.
This shop and several tire shops I have visited have told me that, this year and model has a faulty front end design and I will continue to go through tires if I do not rotate them constantly. Honestly, it's getting to be a real pain. Are they be honest about the front end just being a bad design?
The wear that appears at first reminds mwe of an old car with bad shocks but, the cupping seems to be more pronounced on the inner tire. The thing will go straight as an arrow if you take your hands off the wheel going down the road and when I took it in they say the front end is aligned properly. PLEASE HELP!

Sounds like a camber adjustment needs to be done. The only thing I can suggest is trying a different shop and plead your case to get the camber adjustment as exact as possible.

I worked for Ford for years and never heard anything about that being a bad year for the explorer. A couple of things to consider, do you tow much or travel with a loaded rear suspension. That will affect the front end load weight. If not, check the balljoints very carefully, that could cause the same symptom and with 100,000 miles, I would bet they are bad. Find out how the shop is chacking them, because the proper procedure is to raise the vehicle up and support it from the lower arm. Them check play on the balljoint. The weight of the vehicle has to be on the suspension though, or the balljoint binds and you don't get play from it even if it is bad.
