Hi there. My 98 Explorer Sport was bought used. It has electric locks and windows. I looked for the rap module in the rear quarter panel driver's side with a mechanic from the ford dealership and there was none installed. I recently bought an original rap module for 98 explorers assuming that if I simply installed it, it would work. Is it possible for a truck that didn't come with the rap able to have the new one installed? Thank you very much. I appreciate your time.

Hi

The RAPS module is in the rear on the right side. Here are the instructions to change it out in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find.

It would be nice if I didn't have to manually unlock the doors. I bought the part that is found in the cargo where the jack sits. It came off of an identical Explorer. I also bought the remote.I was wondering if I could install the part in a truck that only has electric locks. No remote transceiver or remote anything to speak of. Would it work? If so, how would I go about it? I should have done more research before I hastily bought those items. But I'm just ready to be able to push a button, then magic happens.
