1996 Ford Explorer TRANS swap

Will a transmission from a 1998 explorer fit a 1996 explorer if they both have 4.0 L engines. Will the sensors and modules plug in? Will the wiring harness have the plugs to fit or do I have to make some changes? If so what do I have to do? Please help in any way possible.

I'm sorry but I don't have that cross reference information. You may be able to get it from a salvage yard. I will tell you, they change things so often there will most likely be differences.
