We recently had our truck towed in for transmission problems. The shop wants to charge $450 for the RDI (remove, diagnose, inspect) only and this seems high to me. I've been trying to find a labor guide online with no luck. Any opinions?

With an old truck should have them give you a price on a total rebuilt
what they given you for a price is just to rope you in

Total price they've given to rebuild tranny (incl soft parts, torque converter, and front drum and a few other things I can't remember) is around 1250. They are insisting transfer case needs repair as well, for about the same price, so total bill is around 2900.

Price on the tranny to be rebuilt is about right

very rear to find that the tranny and transfer case both no good ask more why is it bad?

Spoke with shop this morning. They said transfer case needs new clutches and planetary assembly. - They offered to let me look at the parts, but this is something I am just not familiar with.
Also, any idea if the tranny in a 2000, V6, 4x4 is the same? I found one with a bad motor.
