2001 Ford Expedition V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I've got a 2001 Expedition with a 5.4L engine that isn't firing on the 3rd and 6th cylinders. What could be causing this? Where are the 3rd and 6th cylinders on this engine located?

Chances are it is one of three problems. Most common is a bad coil. On the 5.4L each cylender has its own coil pack. Usually coil packs will go bad. However, they are about 60.00 each. The other things that go bad are the rubber boot that is attached to the coil that goes to the plug can go bad and short causing a miss. The third thing is the spark plugs may need replaced if they haven't been for a while.
