just changed the battery and now it hesitates when I go 60-79 kms a hour. Was told that the computer needed to recalabrate its self is that true? And if it is how long should it take. It also idles high the rpm goes between 1 and 1.5 rpms.
should I get a tune up?

The PCM (Car Computer) sometimes is real troublesome to relearn operating parameters. Ford recommends a specific method for completing this task. See:

Overall, steady-foot driving and allowing the engine to idle for a few minutes without driver input is the best way to accomplish this.

How long does it take? That depends on driving habits and when the PCM completes each of its monitor tests.

Best way to determine if the PCM relearned all parameters is to hook up the vehicle to a diagnostic scanner, and see if all monitors passed their tests.

If the vehicle still hesitates (or the idle remains high), then there is a repair issue at hand.
