1999 Ford Expedition Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My vehicle has a couple of times not wanted to start after being driven for more than an hour. Is this the alternator or could it be something more serious?

Kind of need more info. Does it turn while trying to be started? If your starter is going then it will be harder to start the car when it has just been driven because there is still pressure inside the cylinders. But you said the problem only accurs after 1 hour of driving, is that true? Is it the same after 30 minutes of driving? Have you had to jump it off, or just wait to start it?
