1998 Ford Expedition V8 Automatic 76000 miles

I have been told that the exhaust manifold on my truck is so rusty it is about to fall off.
Is this a job I can do by myself?
I have a lot of hand tools, a jack and jack stands.
I do not have a lift.
Can you give me a brief explanation of what needs to be done as far as gaskets and other information?

Take off the manifold collector bolts from the piping. Usually have to cut them off with a hacksaw or overtighten the bolts and sheer them off. Then run the vehicle and get it warm then quickly remove them. You dont need a new gasket.
