Blower not working Ford Escort 98 1.8 TD

I have just bought a car and blower/ac not working, all previous posts look to resistor as the cause, if so how do you get to it to check it? Help please its freezing!

Those posts generally point to the resistor because the ability to adjust the fan speed is failed. Not blowing at all is another problem. Yes it could be the switch but it could be the fuse and it could be the fan motor itself. Check the fuses, then locate the wires to the fan. See if there is 12 volt of power going into the fan.
