hi, my 1998 ford escort (manual transmission) speedometer, odometer have stopped working all together. I think it's the speed sensor. If it is how do I fix it and where is it located? If it's not the problem, what is?

The Vehicle Speed Sensor is located at the lower rear of the transaxle.

REMOVAL

1.Disconnect the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) electrical connector.

2.Remove the bolt and the VSS.

INSTALLATION
1.To install, reverse the removal procedure.
