Car runs good for about 15 miles then it wants to stall. The only way to keep it running is to stay heavy on gas pedal. A few months ago I replaced the EGR valve, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and ignition coil. The escort ran great for a few months and the problem came back again.
Today I just got a diagnosis and its getting a code for the "EGR". The tecnician says that the primary problem is the radiator is clogged and needs a new radiator, coolant flushing, upper and lower radiator hoses. The secondary problem is the misfire in one of the cylinders, and a new timng belt might fix the misfire.
Please help
Thanks

Al these things are possible with the mileage you have, a stuck EGR will cause drivabilty problems, have you been running hot or overheating? See any white or greenish powder on the radiator fins? Has the timing belt EVER been replaced? Hot running engines can cause misfire issues and bucking while driving. Fuel can boil in the fuel rail.

I have only driven the car for about 3 mos. Yes the engine did overheat once. Nothing white or greenish in the radiator. I dont think the timing belt has been changed.

I was more concerned with the outside of the radiator. Looking for corrosion here, but a good flush out with prestone flush kit is worth a shor, and a timing belt with 175,000 on it is bad news!
