I am currently having problems with my engine temp gauge and hot air blower and have been told the most likely cause is the thermostat but where is it located on the engine?

Have a look where the engine and tranny bolt together, it should be right above that area, you should see the radiator hose attached there.

Your symtoms are that of an air buble, or low coolant and or blocked heater core, install a flush tee and flash the heater core.
